What is the SES Support Grant?
The Queensland Government’s SES Support Grant program provides resource-focused funding to assist local governments in delivering high-quality emergency and disaster management services. Local governments play a crucial role in supporting the ongoing viability of SES operations. Their contributions ensure SES members are adequately resourced and equipped to effectively respond to emergencies and disasters within their communities.
Key Information for the 2026-27 Funding Round
- Local governments are eligible to apply for grants to support SES groups or units within their areas.
- Funding is available for:
- up to $150,000 for facility projects
- up to $75,000 for vehicle projects.
- Grant payments are made only after the project has been finalised and are not provided upfront.
Program Improvements
Several updates have been introduced for this funding round to streamline the process and enhance clarity:
- simplified procurement requirements
- updated and clearer guidance on eligible projects and budget line items, including an acceptable contingency rate, staff wages, and project management costs.
Information Session
An information session will be held on 16 October 2025 at 2:30pm to assist local governments with the application process. Questions are encouraged to be submitted in advance via email to grants@ses.qld.gov.au.
